nateI’m 24 years old. I was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and got a B.A. in Philosophy and History in 2005 from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

I’m currently a fourth-year Ph.D. student in the Philosophy Department at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, working primarily on languge and epistemology, mostly formal-ish issues in both. Lately, I’ve been focusing on the semantics and pragmatics of imperatives in natural and formal languages. This will probably turn into my dissertation. I’ve also recently written a paper on imprecise probabilities in Bayesian epistemology and their connection to decision theory. I’m afraid it’s not any good, but I find the issue is absorbing.

I especially like Morrissey, nineties rap, running, The Wire, Hitchcock movies, basketball, and cats. I don’t really have a mustache.

My academic webpage, with links to papers, is here.
